Terms of Membership

1. Scope

These terms of membership include all facilities, workshops, rented premises and garages run by the “The O’Town Garage Forening”. These are collectively referred to as “facilities” or “facility”.

The signer of these terms is referred to as “member” or “members”

2. Access and opening hours

A membership gives access to the facilities, machines and tools in the opening hours. Specific machines and tools require a license before you are allowed to operate them, either on your own or by supervision of another member. See the paragraph " 15. LICENSE" for further information

The current opening hours are dynamic and operated by members which result in changing opening hours on a weekly basis

3. Up time

When the facilities are being used by many members it can put pressure on the machines and tools. That means waiting time can occur and that machines along with tools sometimes can be “out of service” and are not allowed to operated until they have been replaced or repaired. Problems that arise will always be fixed as fast as possible, within the scope of “The O’Town Garage Forening” capabilities and members are asked to inform employees, volunteers or other representatives of “The O’Town Garage Forening” if they experience a breakdown of a machine or tool so other members can be informed about it.

4. Rights of members

Beside the established terms and rights, the following rights of members apply.

Members has the right to vote in the yearly election of the “The O’Town Garage Forening”-Committee with one vote each

Members has the right to run for election in the yearly election of the “The O’Town Garage Forening”-Committee

Members has the right to participate in all open meetings hosted by the “The O’Town Garage Forening”.

Members has the right to an appeal in getting their ban removed by sending an application to the ““The O’Town Garage Forening” board. However at least 60 days have to pass between each application

5. Damages

If a member damages a machine then they are required to inform employees, volunteers or other representatives of “The O’Town Garage Forening” about this so it can be dealt with as quickly as possible.

Damages caused by members improper or irresponsible use of machines, tools and facilities will be billed to the member.

Besides the terms in this document, the member is required to sign and agree to the terms in the supplementary ““liability waiver” “The O’Town Garage Forening””.

6. Closed days

The facilities may be closed due to reservation, cleaning, courses, maintenance, workshops etc.

The facilities may also be closed due to vacation and holidays

7. Storage

Members can only store belongings on the facilities by agreement with the employees, volunteers or representatives of “The O’Town Garage Forening” and it happens entirely at the members own risk.

Belongings being stored without agreement will be removed after 7 days at the members expense.

8. Insurance

“The O’Town Garage Forening” strongly encourages all its members to have insurance because “The O’Town Garage Forening” does NOT cover injuries or lost/damaged property of members. It is strongly recommended that members have the following Danish insurances or equivalent: “Indboforsikring” and “ulykkeforsikring”. If in doubt the member should talk with their insurance company.

9. Cleanup

Members are required to clean up after themselves when using the facilities. The facilities must be left in at least the same condition as when the member started using them. This includes responsibilities such as sweeping the floor, wiping tables, putting kitchen utensils back and putting tools and machines back to their original place and configuration.

Members are also encouraged to clean up after each other if something has been missed.

10. Trash

Materials from the facilities must be thrown out in the appropriate manner and container. If members bring their own materials, they are themselves responsible for getting rid of the trash at their own expense.

11. Use of machines and tools

Members are not allowed to operate machines and tools for which they are unfamiliar or uncomfortable with. Some machines require a license before members are allowed to operate them, either on their own or by supervision of another member. See paragraph " 15. LICENSE” for more information.

The facilities are considered common area and members are encouraged to give each other space and if someone is in a hurry, to allow them priority.

12. Safety

Members are required to sign the ““liability waiver” “The O’Town Garage Forening”” and follow the terms and condition in that document

“The O’Town Garage Forening” would like to emphasize that members are required to follow ALL safety rules and regulation and usage of personal protective equipment MUST be used at all times. And also that members have a responsibility to prevent bodily harm or injury of any other member.

13. Guests

Members are allowed to bring guests as company but not workforce. Members are responsible and liable for their guests and the terms of “The O’Town Garage Forening” also apply to them.

14. Warnings and banishment

“The O’Town Garage Forening” operates by a warning principle. In case of an incident of members wrong doing, they first receive an oral warning. If they have another incident within 1 month of the oral warning, they then receive a written warning. Another incident within 1 month of the written warning will result in the member being nominated for getting banned from “The O’Town Garage Forening”. The board at “The O’Town Garage Forening” will decide the outcome and the member can submit a report of their actions explaining their actions. As a result of being banned, the members must remove all belongings from the facilities as soon as possible.

“The O’Town Garage Forening” has the power to enforce an immediate ban from the facilities in case of particular serious violations.

15. License

“The O’Town Garage Forening” require that its members has a license to operate certain machines and tools. “The O’Town Garage Forening” host regular opportunities to acquire licenses and members can obtain 2 degree of licensing for a specific tool or machine.

The 1 degree is the “right to use the machine/tool under guidance of member who has 2 degree license to the machine/tool”.

The 2 degree is the “right to use machine/tool independently as well as supervise members with 1 degree license to the machine/tool”.
